i wholly subscribe to that line of thinking, and enjoy fighting, but I’ve seen too many occasions of people sustaining concussions/brain damage to still view it the way you’re framing it. I had these kinds of bonding fights a lot as a kid and teenager, but the stakes are a lot higher when you become an adult. You don’t know what the person you’re engaging with is thinking. He might feel his life is on the line, and he wouldn’t be wrong, because it’s not too rare to see someone get knocked out and then get hit, stomped or killed once they’re defenseless. That makes it an interaction worth avoiding, not seeking out.
