I don't even listen to npr anymore lol... I feel like I've reached a new level of disengagement (though on the media is NY public radio). It just started to feel like the news stories are selected with a certain listener in mind to keep them on board til the next donation campaign. But they're usually fair, and not really afraid to call out guests on their bullshit anymore

I just need somewhere to start because obviously this is a painfully saturated outlet....I suppose eventually I will develop preferences to media sources ... I just want to hear whats going on presented as objectively as possible

Here’s the thing with media bias... back when Dubya was president there were accusations of voter fraud. His brother governed the state who ended up deciding the election. Fox News was obviously republican slanted. It became a joke it was so blatant.

Fast forward and the president of our country has demonized journalism. Any journalism that’s critical of him, or points out inconsistencies in the things he says or does. You criticize media and name them your enemy, and then claim they’re bias toward you and the Republican Party. Being critical of someone who’s consistently caught lying and berating journalism isn’t leaning left, and I’m afraid Trump has done an incredibly effective job of making a good portion of the population believe that anything opposing him or his policies is just the bias media.

I try and consume news and information from numerous sources. In my opinion, if you aren’t ‘left leaning’ right now then you’re on the wrong side of history.

Mitch McConnell making a speech on the senate floor this morning. He mentions outlandish accusations made toward Kavanaugh, like him being a serial rapist who held numerous gang bang parties. Comparing those allegations to the credible testimony Blasey Ford gave in order to discredit her by association. Also saying that Kavanaugh WILL be voted on this week. He’s ignoring the investigation currently going on, and has apparently decided that Ford is lying, despite her coming forward having negative ramifications on her life and family.
