what do you define lyrical as? I consider content that is thought provoking, relevant, and well delivered to be lyrical. I consider rhyme schemes that flow to a beat flawlessly and make you vibe with it to be lyrical.

KOD's songs are easy to write. It's the production and delivery that make them entertaining. I'M NOT SAYING that it's bad. I'm just saying that if we're talking about lyricism, then

I mean... seriously... I could write that in less than 5 minutes. Most people could. There's nothing technical about it.

That isn't to say that this sort of music doesn't have it's worth... but for ME PERSONALLY, I value technical ability. I've always felt like diving was a decent analogy for it. Anyone can jump off a diving board into the water. Some people can do a flip. Some people can get insanely intricate without belly flopping. SOME people can do all of that and barely make a splash. The more technical your writing gets, then the harder it is to not make a big ass splash.

Sometimes Em flops on a song, or a lyric, but I don't even agree with the fact that he isn't a good song writer. I just don't think he writes the kind of songs y'all like.

It’s not about Em not being great at a lot of technical things, it’s his content being so bad that nothing can save it. But yeah I guess you can maybe relate enough to his content to like it with the technical stuff too?

I’m not gonna go find lyrics of his that anyone could write in 5 minutes but there’s plenty of it. His jokes are childish and simple shock humor. His comedy talents are on par with Carlos mencia and the likes. His stories are for dirts and simpletons.

I can't find a good source for kamikaze other than spotify and don't have premium so can't pin point the track names other than fall and lucky you, but there's two off it that remind me of eminem show em and the content is about relationships

I don't find any of his songs about relationships listenable because he's a scumbag and child

Infinity and SSLP/MMLP are good and I like at least 70% of the music on them. Everything since is so inconsistent and frequently cringey that I can't even name a specific song for you because it's the entire flow of the album. Eminem show is what made me not like him. Politically it was more nonsense than immortal technique but better written.

this is his best effort in over a decade by far, it's just not a good all around album. lucky you is the best joint, rest is either listenable a few times for the hype or fluff.

it is not easy to come up with a flow that dope for a mainstream song and also rhyme those words so well. for real. i'm a rhyme scheme nerd through and through. those are dope rhymes to fit into that small of a box. to me that section of cole lyrics are much more impressive than em forcing 5 syllable rhymes in literally wherever he wants to while not saying anything content wise.
