he's competent sure. but so are basically 90 percent of the ufc.

he's one of the best wrestlers for sure though.

He's always been considered ONE of the best grapplers/jujitsu as long as I can remember, bro - These were common topics debated prior to him taking his leave.

Amen 11-05-2017 01:35 PM

And he wasn't even considered a great wrestler till his 1st loss to Matt Hughes - then he went on an perfected wrestling afterwards.

But he's always been known as arguably one of the best jujitsu.

GSP is not known as a great BJJ practitioner. He's got great top control as far as holding his opponents down for long periods of time. He's got good boxing and uses it to set up take downs. But saying "he's always been known as arguably one of the best jujitsu" is hilarious.

GO listen to all UFC podcasts and tell me otherwise.

I generally listen to Joe Rogans and many times Joe's even mentioned him being arguably one of the best.

Also, I mean one of the best signed to the UFC not in the world - obviously lol...

The Dead Poet 11-05-2017 01:56 PM

I bet you believed Joe when he said it was the Machida era too. and that Ronda could beat floyd.

Amen 11-05-2017 02:01 PM

You're reaching.

Please show me where GSP was never been mentioned when UFC Greats have been discussed.

Thanks.

really? since forever he been considered the best lol.

uh-oh 11-05-2017 02:34 PM

ive never once heard that?

if he was one of the best jiu jitsu practitioners he wouldn't have been so scrutinized for his boring wrestlefuck fights where he's just control and win decisions

he's been known as a great wrestler, great takedowns and like poet said control, but he ain't known as a jiu jitsu guy, this is literally the first im hearing it, and i actually watched every event when he was relevant lol

BROKE LESNAR 11-05-2017 02:50 PM

GSP is one of the best.

Kill Spree 11-05-2017 03:31 PM

The Dead Poet 11-05-2017 08:40 PM

saku did 'tko' the legendary ken shamrock and once landed a spinning back kick on (what looked like a shot) vitor belfort. also, those running slidekicks to the face were pretty sexy. a wizard on the feet he was obviously not.

but yea george's jitz isn't in the least vaunted, he basically laid on dan hardy for five rounds and attempted like two subs. bastard ruined my night yesterday (not really, it was a good fight).
