I don't think there's any reason at all to think he would have fell off

U could've said that about em after his first 3................

Destroyer 01-03-2016 05:14 PM

he white tho

Ghost1 01-03-2016 05:18 PM

LOL fair

Certain 01-03-2016 05:20 PM

Me Against the World is completely unlike everything else 2Pac did, though.

Witty 01-03-2016 05:24 PM

Sometimes I don't know if rappers really fell off or if we just got used to them.

By which I mean, their music is the same quality it always was but it just doesn't seem like it cuz it isn't new anymore. Which in it's own is the artists fault as well, but idk, does this make sense?

And sometimes they def just fall the fuck off.

Ghost1 01-03-2016 05:30 PM

Wat ur sayin makes sense......but give an example of sum1

Certain 01-03-2016 05:38 PM

The Roots are a good example of that. They've been so good for so long that each new Roots album doesn't get talked about nearly enough. I know I slept on ...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin.

But mostly, I think what happens is we realize that the initial hype was too strong. Take Big K.R.I.T. He's a very good rapper. Everyone knows this. I enjoy everything he drops to some degree. But the initial hype was that he was the best young rapper coming up. That was too much. He hasn't fallen off, but he was never really worth the hype he started with.

Ghost1 01-03-2016 06:29 PM

Big krit is a strong example. Word.

I just prefer listening to Biggie. I've tried to break everything down. 2Pac's inconsistency is obvious but understandable since he recorded four times as much material. But even on their best tracks, I like Biggie more. That might be my New York bias. That might be my preference for skill rather than content. But I like listening to Biggie more.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

which album should I start with?

I'm not sure what everyone else suggested but if it wasn't "Me Against The World" something is wrong with them.

Allen Knight 01-03-2016 07:18 PM

so u think biggie duets album & born again are better then pacs until the end of time & better dayz & loyal to the game albums?

uh-oh 01-03-2016 08:05 PM

All i know is it is 2016 and pac/biggie threads are still a thing.

I am surprised to see people going with pac though. Im usually alone on that.

Lmao at knucklehead overrated werido? stfu.

He's not talented. His good songs are mostly thanks to production

When he tried to be deep and intelligent he came off as an idiot

Dude. Really? I have no problem with you not liking him, but not talented at all?

I can't understand that opinion.

Certain 01-04-2016 12:05 PM

@Witty, I can't speak for @Knucklehead, but I don't think 2Pac was on the same level of technical skill as Notorious B.I.G. He didn't mix up his flow and annunciation as well, and his lyricism wasn't as clever or interesting. 2Pac was all about what he was saying. Biggie was all about how he said it.

Oh I realise he was nowhere close to being the best technical rapper, and that is what I enjoy most. But he was brave, he was audacious, he spoke on social issues in a way everyone could understand and he was a very good story teller. He understood how to communicate with an audience better than most, so to say he had no talent is a very confusing opinion to me.
