|
U goin in w high expectations
I didn't Hope u like it |
The Documentary 2 is for people who think rap was much better in 2005 than 2015.
Which, it might have been, but not by much. |
Just walked into the CDepot and found the new asap. One used copy for 7.99 the rest are 14.00
What luck! So im coppin. Not sure what else to cop |
So.. i copped the asap. Pimp butterfly -Finally.
And last but most definitely not least... which surprisingly ive heard nothibg about yet the cds were gone and luckily they had a couple in the back.... the new Pusha T. KING PUSH. Will holla. |
Aite. So king push was nasty. Not enough tracks as usual on it. But thats push MO .Pretty close to his last joint with nostalgia on it imo, as far as prlduction and content.
Im on track 2 of at.long.last asap. So far its dope.. good recommendation ole dirty bagstard Not gonna comment on pimp a butter since its been spoken about so much and im late as fuck to really pay it any mind. |
I'm listening to King Push: Darkest Before Dawn right now. I'm halfway through and ... kind of disappointed. The beats are weak.
Best 2015 rap albums that haven't been mentioned in this thread: Vince Staples, Summertime '06 Boosie Badazz, Touch Down 2 Cause Hell Mick Jenkins, Wave[s] Young Thug, Barter 6 Dr. Dre, Compton Public Enemy, Man Plans God Laughs Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, Surf |
Ha I actually dig these beats alot
Dissapointed it's only 10 tracks tho |
I like him on grimier beats. Good example from this album: "Keep Dealing" featuring Beanie Sigel. Probably the standout track on first listen.
Also, I've only listened to it on my computer speakers. Sometimes minimalist beats sound shitty on these laptop speakers. |
I am nodding out at work listening to it.....that beanie song actually pulled me out of my trance. Shit is fire.

It's crazy how good Ice Cube is these days every time he tries to rap. |
Anderson Paak shined all over that album, but my favorite jam off Compton was "Darkside." The song before it that shared the same track was decent, but Darkside was dope af to me. That being said, Compton was dope but I wish there were more throwback west coast beats on it.

Deeply rooted

Y'all probably won't like this, but I missed it because of the stupid name. This is rapper Ka and producer Preservation's jazz-rap opus, where the lyricism is on display and the drums are in the background or missing entirely.

Yeah, this one is even more eccentric.
|
For me it's Deeply Rooted(Face).
Runner ups are Canal St Confidential(Curren$y), & DS2(Future). |
Compton was close as well.
