The entire point of 1-2 punch is for supposed topical writers to beat battlers by using ridiculous name plays.

That's how I lost to Allen Knight. In one of the 1st couple of weeks. Everyone voted for me, then all of a sudden, realized Allen's name play worked after arguing in chat for 3 days and changed their vote. They have allowed it before, tbh - is all I'm saying. And I've been in many leagues where votes were allowed to be changed. But had to be with in a certain time frame. Like you have 2 hours after the votes submitted to change. That's for people like in Muff's case who may have missed something or w/e they didn't catch on the 1st couple of reads. RM used to put in there battle thread rules, that you had a certain time frame to change your vote.

The real question is; are YOU new?

If a vote was casted, then changed AFTER a sway, no I can't support that.

I've been real liberal with the explanations and soft swaying after bars were posted. But when a vote is edited due to a sway then no I can't let that slide.

Amen 11-07-2014 07:52 AM

I'd agree. All thou, some votes may not be changed because of a sway.

Voter doesn't comprehend the concept. Votes other guy. Shortly after, someone explains the other concept to voter. Voter thinks the misunderstood concept is the better of the 2. Voter changes vote.

You'd consider that swaying?

The moment a vote is edited after explanation, that's a sway. Any editing of a vote that occurred after being told why they misunderstood the bar or voted in the wrong direction is a sway.

If one doesn't understand the bar, PM the guy. Ask for clarification. Then post a vote after you've vetted each bar thoroughly. Don't post your vote and edit it later once your grasp of the concept/np/wp/personal has evolved.

I'm fine with posting a quote or whatever you would like (other than pics or vids of the person as they are against the rules) before you drop a bar. I do it all the time. That isn't a sway, that's context for the reader to know what I'm referring to.

But if I went into the chat thread and convinced you to edit your vote in my favor, that's a blatant sway.

El Muffin 11-07-2014 08:06 AM

i should have asked for expo before voting

its all good

i know now how to proceed from henceforth

According to this, I should have never took an L from AK, then - is what you're saying? Lol. Considering half the people that voted in my direction changed their vote and he ended up winning by a few votes or some shit.

You would have to ask Meth bc he was the mod at the time but yeah what happened in that battle was blatant swaying.

BROKE LESNAR 11-07-2014 08:14 AM

Agreed. And you clearly won. (But I'm one of the three worst voters here, so what do I know.)

No, if you don't get a line, don't vote. It's different in a full battle. But here not understanding a line means not understanding an entire verse.

It used to be against the rules for anyone to talk about their own verses. Hell, talking about other people's verses outside of a vote was discouraged.
