Can we mandate band names and secret handshakes?

It's a tough gig because every year there are more and more acts eligible for HOF, which means certain people will be perpetually snubbed. That's the point, I guess, to get people talking. It's like pound for pound rankings or any kind of all-time comparisons. I like Green Day, and feel like they should get in eventually, but given the groups that are not in yet I have a hard time justifying them being a first ballot HOF group. Would be more fitting in another 5 years or so on the 25th anniversary of Dookie.

The group most unjustly out is the Joy Division/New Order combination that they refuse to allow to be entered jointly.

Can't say I'm familiar with them, but I'll check them out. I was surprised to see that bands like Slayer and Motörhead aren't in. Not my cup of tea genre wise, but as someone who rarely (never) listens to metal I know about both bands/some of their songs, which says something.

And start with Joy Division, which was the original band before the lead singer killed himself. But I don't know how you will feel. They are very dark.

there's no sadness my unrelenting optimism can't handle. I'll give them the old college try, though. The "darkest" albums I have on my itunes are Moon and Antarctica and Suede's self-titled album. Not sure if those constitute dark.

They count as dark. They don't even compare to Joy Division.

well it has been rainy as fuck here lately, so maybe it'll be a conducive atmosphere to get into them tomorrow. you ever listen to The Happy Mondays? I was gonna check them out tomorrow as well - looks like I'll have my day off cut out for me, music-wise.

Those are very different bands in tone, though not really in formative style.
