A lot of people care about text battling though. You can tell by the success of the last couple summer classics. this fall brawl, nbl and countless other disappointments. Never really was bummed by something that was wrote by Black.

Battling is at an alltime low..ive participated in many cash tournies for battling through the years..ive never seen a major topical tourny with a cash prize..the draw isnt there n noone wants to see competition between whi can write the best multisyllable suicide note kthxbye.

Black my boy and one of the best topical to ever do it, but I have to agree with Orc here.

Back on IHH when you were inducted, you did a LOT more to get in than on NC. You were also one of the best reg battlers on that site, too, and didn't no show nearly as much.

People like Bags, Orc, etc had to do so much to get into the HOF, just doesn't seem fair if you can get in by battling a few times and droppings a couple Open Mics.

I also disagree with the OM cats in this thread, most top tier battlers are just as good if not better than most OM heads. Orc, Bags, Hush, nik, ALIEN, Lefty, etc had OM HOF's on old NC or champed big topical tournies. Just because they mostly battle don't mean they suck at writing.

It us totally irrelevant in retrospect even i can admit that. I just like playing with words i suppose

He's the best Open Mic writer here. Has been for years, plural. Even if OM is a third as important as battling, which is fine, the single best example we have from the section should and will be represented in the HOF. You can't tell the story of the best to do it on this site and leave out Black. Plain and simple.

also, battling is as essential to overall site activity if not moreso than open mic. it's just a fact. people that choose to text battle have personality types that make netcees so much fun in the first place. but really it all comes down to writing rhymes. and threads about lifting weights i guess..
