I'm always impressed with people who do topicals and battle consistently. Once I started getting into OM I found it difficult to continue battling, and when I did I was noticeably worse.

I started both at around the same time and ended up doing solely Open Mics for a while. One of my favorite text exploits was an 'Elements' ish league back on RapFlava where everyone had to do reg battle, topical and open mic from week to week. I was champion and went 15-0 during that stint facing people like Vulgar multiple times during my run.
