It’s more just a comment on him being unlucky/overlooked. His name isn’t a huge draw and his fights are rarely highlight reel stuff. I love Leon and always root for him but don’t think he beats Usman either way. Covington a prick but that’s also a huge challenge. Would like to see him at least get the shot.

He needs like 2 more wins before he's even in the title picture. He convincingly beat Nate, but he just doesnt have the name to be even close to a title fight, that being said, nobody is beating Usman. He's approaching GSP GOAT welterweight status

Burns got a title shot after beating Gunnar Nelson, a 42 year old Demian Maia and 2020 Tyron Woodley. Leon has beat Nelson, Nate Diaz, Vicente Luque, Cowboy and RDA to name a few. If Usman beats Colby again who deserves next shot more? I agree he’s not a huge name for Ppv etc. but he’s earned his shot imo. I don’t see anyone beating Usman rn and he says he won’t go up a division while Izzy still champ so that isn’t happening.

The only thing is Leon is on some “My next fight is going to be a champ match, nothing less” shit, so I’m wondering if shit with Masvidal is going to go down. I guess there’s a couple ways to look at it. One would be if Leon ends up fighting Masvidal and wins, I’d say he’d have to be a contender for the Usman/Covington winner. Like you said it would not a big draw PPV wise but who else would be above him in contendership? If Usman wins he would have defended 2x against Colby, 2x against Masvidal, 1x Burns. If Colby somehow wins I think it would be a refreshing title fight to see him take on Leon. The only thing I can see stopping that would be Dana giving Usman and immediate rematch for the PPV $ and it being a trilogy. But this would further be exiling Leon who we don’t even know is going to fight in a title fight. Other possibilities could be Colby and Masvidal both winning their fights, then would Masvidal get that title shot? Same if Usman and Masvidal wins. Usman has 2 title defenses already on Masvidal, so I don’t even know. Shit is hurting my brain trying to piece this shit together

Marlon v Dvalishvili was fucking wild, great card. Volk is a savage, those sub attempts in rd 3 had me out my seat and would’ve won my bet. I feel like Ortega tried to change position when he had that first guilotine when really he just had to hang on a bit longer. Volk said he was close to going out there. Mad fight but Ortega too tough for his own good.

Also Diaz v Lawler was entertaining as hell lmao at Diaz coming out with the spin kick in rd 1
