Common is close, too. Universal Mind Control is kinda meh, but other than that his catalogue is on-point.

I think it's hard to define what a "bad" album is. Like, we all know one when we hear it, but harder to pinpoint what makes it shitty, and what the difference between a bad album and a decent one, etc. I've met a kid who said Encore by Eminem was his favorite album, which I think is easily his worst (and overall a legit bad album). So, there's that.

Electric Circus and Universal Mind Control qualify as bad, I think. (I'm actually seeing a bunch of positive reviews for Electric Circus, which I think has more to do with mainstream music media not knowing how to handle rap reviews at that point in history. Universal Mind Control was panned by everyone.) I'm pretty OK with The Dreamer/The Believer and Nobody's Smiling, though my expectations were very low.

I do love Common, though. I think he's produced one classic (Resurrection), one near-classic (Be) and a bunch of really good albums.

I may not have listened to Electric Circus come to think of it. I'll take your word for it.

I forgot - Pharoahe Monch is now 4 for 4 on good to great albums. This is not debatable.

You want to talk about a guy who never finds beats to match his ability. I'd say all four are good but should have been great if he hadn't insisted on (been cheap in) self-producing so much.

that only applies to his first album imo, which has a few misstep tracks, but overall can not be considered bad. Desire, WAR, and PTSD are all good. He was the shit in Organized Konfusion, too.

Encore will always be my least favourite album of all time, at least with Recovery his ability shone through even past all the corniness, in Encore it's like he completely forgot how to write a decent verse.

A Stan is someone who likes it simply because of the name and ignores the music completely. A Stan is someone who has decided it is great before even listening. If you listen with honesty and no bias because of who it is, and still happened to enjoy all of them, I don't think that makes you a Stan or incorrect. We like what we like.
