Yeah, I was under the impression he was still signed to Young Money/Cash Money.

But Wayne never puts out anyone outside Drake, Nicki and Tyga. But that's fine. Ive heard a handful of dope verses from Cory Gunz, but I don't know that I've ever heard a dope song

do you like cage?

Nothing new has really excited me, honestly. Joey Badass is good. Wax. Cubbiebear.

I like most Cage before Depart From Me. I listen to mostly old stuff. Eyedea. Edan. Run the Jewels was a cool album. Despot is good.

you know, i did not hate "depart from me" as much as everybody else seemed to.

it took a few listens for sure but once i got over the different sound, it was pretty enjoyable. he has a more recent album as well but haven't gotten around to checking it out.

i think we can both agree that his peak was WATERWORLD

I didn't hate Depart From Me, either. The I Never Knew You single was so much different than the rest of the album that it just felt like a tease. The first track was really good and the rest was sort of fun in a weird carnival kind of way. As a stand alone, it's a cool album, but it leaves a void in Hip Hop, sound wise, and I guess that sort of bothers me more than anything. Cage added intelligence and a genuine feel to that style. He wants to go a different direction, and that's cool. Sam Hill didn't impress me much. You can tell it's sort of him trying to recapture or just have an outlet for that side of himself that just isn't as prominent (or on the surface) in his personality anymore. Kill the Architect is the newer album, and I can't remember it well enough to talk about it.

Waterworld he was coming off the prime of his old style but coming into a more focused effort. I wish I'd made more of an effort to record and shit back then, but it just wasn't in my culture or whatever. Wasn't surrounded by it. COULDNT DEVELOP... lol. In retrospect, in because I was antisocial. I know a dude who's doing pretty well in the scene who wanted me to come do an album with him and I was on some philosophical hermit shit. Still am, but sadly more integrated now.

I listened to atmosphere once

dull boy 09-24-2014 11:07 AM

lol

Cool, bruh.

Greed 09-24-2014 11:11 AM

Atmosphere was dope. Stopped listening after blood makes the blade holy. The good to bad song ratio was hella low from that cd on.

Among the sleep is a bad ass cage song but songs like suicidal failure make me not want to associate with the boy.
