U aren't the youngest here
@Malachi can barely count to 20

Clayray 08-28-2014 03:01 AM

Lmaoo is that why he only lifts 10 pound weights?

Meth 08-28-2014 03:01 AM

It's almost his age i guess

Diode 08-28-2014 03:11 AM

Namix being busy with life will be the downfall of NCs unless he recruits very active, young admins with nothing better to do. That method is what kept PR going for way longer than it should have. The aging of the forum membership eventually caught up though. Our Malachis are now in their late 20s. Couple that was an untimely forum upgrade and a really shitty unstable host and I know have an awesome expensive server that I paid very little for comparatively.. hosting two graveyards (PR and the latest failed attempt to get BW running again).

Keep membership young and put them in charge if you don't have time to run the place actively, @namix.. or you will suffer the same fate within 2-3 years as NCs becomes an occasional disc board for retired/jaded "writers" to clown and remember thr good old days.. slowly dropping off one by one as weddings occur and babies are born.

He just closed/moved/deleted two of my threads - that had links.

I think I also saw you say Dagel is a decent writer, recently.

Have you been drinking more than usual?

Anyway we know how to keep the OM moving, but most of us are lazy, that's the reality. I liked the write weeks though, wouldn't mind seeing them return.

Vulgar 08-28-2014 07:31 AM

We've a solid line-up. It's never going to be a utopia but I'm okay with that. Leave good feed and the rest will follow.

oats 08-28-2014 08:04 AM

I agree with the sentiments in here, but I don't see it as an administrative effort. If you want to recruit people, go recruit them. I'm shitty at leaving good OM feed consistently, but a lot of us drop shit on the go, and when you factor in the fact that we participation in leagues/tournaments etc, feeding other OMs is a lower priority. If you want lots of good feed consistently, join up.

The VOTM thing is tough. I like the idea - old Nc used to do it - but when activity fell off there were expectedly terrible verses getting it, and when the activity was up it was pretty much a revolving door of vets getting it, which did not inspire other writers to step up so much as it inspired angst and defeatism. that HOF is as exclusive as it is now is good - we don't want to become RB with mediocre writers boasting exorbitant amounts of HOFs.

To me, consistent mags and personal responsibility rule the day. Mags give more people more shine, which boosts activity and can also pinpoint developing writers instead of just giving vets more highlight reel time. Plus there can be segments that explain how to give good feed, showcase people who give good feed, etc. sometimes we forget that some people are honestly trying to give good critique, but may simply lack the skills and know how to do it.

namix should make me admin here

sure, i can be a dick, but ultimately i'm good for activity and have money to throw at tourneys/leagues

Dagel 08-28-2014 12:35 PM

I see tons of material but little to no feedback.

veritas 08-28-2014 12:49 PM

I will mod it.

Have you fed anything? You posted two pieces. Both were long. What do you expect?

Dagel 08-28-2014 01:06 PM

You're a douche.

Clayray 08-28-2014 01:28 PM

Feedback is expected to be too in depth nowadays. A simple "yo this shit hard bro" is not enough. Now people want you to sit and masturbait about their fucking paragraphs and cum with a detailed line for line breakdo- nigga ain't no one got time for that fr lol I think that's why feedback has been on the decline. I think newer people or even people that's been around for a year or two feel pressured to come up with this long and thought out bullshit response as to why they thought it was great, why tf can't we just say "that was great" and move tf on? I personally can't think of enough bullshit to fill a large response about some dudes drop. The honest truth is I don't give a fuck enough. Why should I? Why should anybody? Why do we need feedback? I certainly don't drop writtens for feedback. I do it cause I love writing, and idc if anyone likes it or not. Y'all should be like me

Clayray 08-28-2014 01:29 PM

Stop reaching for approval of other boarders. Fags.

Witty 08-28-2014 01:48 PM

I modded RB's OM during its most active and successful period, I could do the same here if I put the effort in...we all know I never will tho.

I hate me.

Btw weekly mags help a lot, and an incentive...something to make ppl write, fuck waiting for ppl to find a reason to write, give them one.

Dagel 08-28-2014 01:49 PM

He said "Witty is currently pooping"

And I can confirm that to be correct.

I deleted literally every thread that DexLabb ever posted yesterday because he's a freeposting piece of shit. I won't police any further than that.

Two link rules are gay as fuck, won't happen here. Would you rather get a couple of really good, genuine feeds, or several really shitty 'I need two links' types of feed? If people post something and feed nothing else, looking at you DAGEL, then don't fucking read their shit. It's that simple. If someone feeds your shit, then go feed theirs. That system has worked just fine for two years, but like Eng said, we're just lazy. A mag won't fix lazy, selfish fucks.
