they have a VERY GREAT CHANCE of not making the playoffs in two years and you do know drafting someone and signing them to a rookie contract is not the same as signing a FA right? so what are you talking about with the salary cap? and piece and garnett got two years left bro |
Celtics dont make the playoffs.
Nets getcto round 2 against the heat KG will refuse to shake allens hand. They get swept. Garnet retires, pierce goes back to Beantown retires a year later. Heat repeat. |
You do know 1st rounders have a guaranteed salary which is why Dallas only wanted overseas guys that they can keep over there and off the books right? 2nd rounders aren't guaranteed shit. So what the fuck are you talking about.
Nets were like a 4-5 seed without kg and pierce. Both of whom are still really good. I bet you a stack they are no worse then a 4 seed. Probably a 3. |
They got 2 years left and an owner that will spend money. They're not the bobcats man. The draft isn't important to most teams.
And if you think any of those picks will be in the lottery you're fucking stupid. |

you can always afford a rookie? I just didn't get your point about the salary cap and pierce and garnett are old. this ain't 08 no more. they ain't that much of a threat, and they DEFINITELY will not win any chip over in brooklyn na they not gonna be lottery but lets not act like a 15-20 pick isn't good. it is, and you can do work with those types of picks at your disposal but we'll see also, can't they trade Wallace's cntract? if so, thats the most valuable trading piece in the lEast |
annnnndd
they just said marshon brooks is going to bos now (rumors) if that happens then all around I think brooklyn lost |
The massive trade that will send Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry from the Boston Celtics to the Nets in exchange for four players and three draft picks needs to be tweaked a little.
A source with direct knowledge of the situation told SNY.tv in the wee hours of Friday morning that the trade does not involve Reggie Evans, but instead will include third-year reserve guard MarShon Brooks. The source said that Evans was informed late Thursday evening that he would not be part of the trade. Based on that fresh piece of news, the trade is the three Celtics in exchange for Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, a signed-and-traded Keith Bogans, Kris Joseph and first-round draft picks in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The picks in 2016 and 2018 are reportedly unprotected. The trade cannot be made official until the NBA’s moratorium on player transactions is lifted on July 10. “Talks are ongoing and changes can still be made, but Reggie isn’t involved and MarShon is,” the source said. The trade was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports early Thursday afternoon. The situation was fluid throughout the afternoon and evening, finally culminating in Garnett reportedly waving his no-trade clause shortly after the second round of the NBA Draft began at Barclays Center. Brooks, who will make just under $1.3 million next season and has a team option in 2014-15 for just under $2.3 million, had been the subject of trade rumors as the NBA Draft approached. Reports said the Nets and Timberwolves had engaged in exploratory discussions to send the former Providence College star to the Timberwolves in exchange for the 26th overall pick on Thursday. That trade never came to be. Instead, the Wolves selected Colorado’s Andre Roberson at No. 26 for the Golden State Warriors, who then traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nobody will take Wallace's contract. BK is is lucky the celtics did it.
And its not just about cap. How you gonna have roster space to add 6 rookies in the next 3 years lol but again i hate that i get in these arguments. You're right to you, im right in my mind. In 4 years we'll see whos right when Boston builds around Rondo, Green, trade and free agency and those picks become nothing. But you go ahead and build a franchise in 5 years around 7 picks on the 20's. Should have a pretty successful franchise considering most teams can't do it with lotteries every year. |
so according to you every pick in the 20s suck lol?
that's what this boils down to? |
as a Knicks fan I can tell you the Nets are way scarier to me now then they were yesterday.
when KG and Pierce's contracts expire the nets will have tons of cap space to sign free agents. picks in the twenties aren't gonna build a title team. |
Nets will do nothing.
You get KG an Pierce to win a title. That isn't happening. |
the last four picks boston had near 20 were
jared sullinger (pk 21 2012) fab melo (pk 22 2012) MarShon Brooks (pk 25 2011) Avery Bradley (pk 19 2010) |

Ok average role players? Who that you listed is winning anyone a title? You got a whole team of them, your not even an 8 seed. |
I think KG will play at a super high level this coming year.. Pierce will too... but I just feel like KG gon' ball the fuck out for some reason.
