namix 02-17-2014 04:49 PM

the couples skating was a lot more impressive than i expected it to be.

I hadn't smoked in about 6 months, and did for the first time right before watching it, though.

namix 02-17-2014 04:50 PM

Alias revealed.

Rookie game > All Star game.

Bosh hitting 2 from half court on the bounce was more entertaining than the All Star game.

Diode 02-20-2014 01:14 PM

nobody cares about the nba.

the nhl is outdrawing the nba right now. serious.

Just C 02-20-2014 01:20 PM

Really?

Considering the strikes in recent years I woulda thought that would have hurt interest heavily.

I think you're winding me up. I fuck with Hockey but I find that hard to believe.

It did.

The NBA is just that awful right now.

The NBA's ratings destroy the NHL. In-game attendance is being driven to irrelevance.

The only reason this is the case is because ESPN hates hockey and it's relegated to one game/night on NBCSN which many households don't even get. NHL Network doesn't even carry games half the time and even less households get that.

This is all Bettman's fault after the 04-05 lockout, of course.

But if that hadn't happened I don't think it's a stretch to think things would be closer to even.

Just C 02-20-2014 02:06 PM

Over here in England you get atleast 2 NBA games a night thanks to BT sport.

ESPN have gone the College route showing tons of games a week.

College ball gets more play over here than NHL.

yeah. again, espn has had a vendetta ever since nbc won the contract.

Just C 02-20-2014 02:12 PM

Why a Vendetta though?

I woulda thought it would be a simple case of no network wanting to touch the NHL with a 10 foot barge pole considering the striking makes them a liability.

Who would want to sign a multi million contract with them when a broadcaster can't even rely on the league to see out a whole season.

The NBA has had the same issue as has MLB and NFL sooooo... ?

No, ESPN lost the bidding war to NBC and lost their shit over it. ESPN isn't used to not getting what they want.
