I like it, personally. Year long. Person with the best record at the end of the year wins. Like the premiere league.

Shit would be so crazy oh shit brahs

patrown 12-03-2013 03:38 PM

my bad to the participants in battles i missed. i passed out halfway into them.

patrown 12-03-2013 03:39 PM

uh. did i miss playoff sign ups?

Certain 12-03-2013 03:50 PM

You signed up.

ThisisDAM 12-03-2013 03:53 PM

Remember the RSTL. That shit would go like 52 weeks.

Do a 48 week league. Top 8 make playoffs. Have special "boosters" or "enhancements" that can cause people to get strategic with wins/losses.

If you get more than 20 people to do this, you can DO A LOT OF cool shit with IT.

I have ideas, haha

Certain 12-03-2013 03:53 PM

There weren't seasons in the RSTL originally. Records were continual. I think they changed that in the past couple years before it died.

ThisisDAM 12-03-2013 03:59 PM

48 weeks. 12 weeks of 4 different things. Picture, Quote, 1 word, theme week or something

I'd love to hear anyone weigh in on this.

Would that prove a disincentive to competing regularly or showing up? That'd be my biggest worry, that no-shows and not voting would be far more common because wins would not be as important.

I think it would kill the urgency of voting deadlines and dropping out whenever wouldn't have any real consequences. I had an idea, but it wasn't well thought out, so for once I'll keep it to myself.

This new keyboard blows.

The more I think about it, the more I agree. A year-round league requires a much deeper entrant pool.

We have a gigantic entrant pool. It just hasn't been tapped recently.

Where the hell did the loss in my record come from?

i can assure you it wasnt me. i will investigate this matter further though

Gigantic? I think the interest in an open tournament will be high. I don't think there are many people who consistently would show and vote in an unending league.

Mike Wrecka 12-03-2013 05:00 PM

and a 48 week league sounds horrible tbh

YDK 12-03-2013 05:01 PM

I say we do a year round league and a tourney every few weeks with the ppl that would be considered playoff contenders and/or a tourney for the bottom half in the rankings. Either way the playoffs should still go as planned right now

I think it is complicated to predict but either way would get repetitive and boring

Vulgar 12-03-2013 05:14 PM

I just wanna be 162-2 as the new champ.

Let a ninja eatttt

jk

Certain 12-03-2013 05:24 PM

Matchups are posted in the OP. Threads will go up tonight.

Certain 12-03-2013 05:27 PM

And since I'm sure there is interest in this, I'll post the breakdown for the three-win glut and why YDK landed the final spot. The number next to the competitor's name is how many wins were racked up by the people they beat. This was the method we've said we would use all season.

YDK, 9 - Mike Wrecka, Buddha and Scripter
Just Write, 8 - Mike Wrecka, Objective and Aesthetic.
Innovator, 8 - breathless, YDK and Scripter.
ThisisDAM, 7 - ZYG, symetrik and King Ra.
Zenland, 7 - Innovator, symetrik and King Ra.
Adonis, 4 - Buddha, Clutter Buck and Fig.
ZYG, 3 - Mordycai, Genocide and Pinot Grij.

Certain 12-03-2013 05:28 PM

And finally, to keep people abreast of the situation, Mike Wrecka is taking a brief leave of moderating duties but approved all of this.

I'm the guy you can bitch to now, if you're so inclined.

(Three in a row.)
