in the 90s gay people were ostracized everywhere, only recently have people started to realize "gee, we've been treating these people like shit for no real reason", not just in hip hop but all over. I'm sure there's people like you from every era of change tho.. ppl that miss the 50s, before black people could go to school with white kids, ride the front of the bus, etc. Or people that missed the good ol' days before women could vote or have jobs.. |
I miss some 90s music heavy
But I could listen to macklemore Dude has some solid tracks snd I doubt same love was a pr move because he also dedicated a song to a recently deceased mariners announcers and again told an amazing story through adolescence eyes .. he's is just good at that |
He says it hisself
Hip hop was born from opression Yet we cant except them? Why do people care so much who people fuck? Who cares man..who cares. Listen to the song and enjoy...if not move along. Tbh Im sure macklemore will come out in the following year or so. |

realest shit tho, most niggas as kids do gay shit so idk why niggas act like the whole "bitches have cooties" shit never happened,
macklemore is ok w/ me |
This has been discussed here, at great length.
Any argument someone can bring up for not liking him is pretty stupid, generally. He's dope. The close minded will call it an anthem for gays, but anyone with any sense will see it took some courage to make a song like that. In an industry where 99% is overly concerned with what the next man thinks (talk about gay), this guy is just being honest. Most musical genres celebrate that type of rawness, but Hip Hop, since the '90s has been so aware of itself and what it's defined as that people rap/write scared. Which is typical, because assimilation is normal. Conformity. It's funny, because Hip Hop used to be anti-establishment. Now it's a billion dollar industry, with a whole slew of fake rappers who grew up on fake rappers. lol @ Dr. Dre talking about being anti-drug while he was in NWA. It's all a gimmick, and most of you are too stupid to realize it. So much so, that actual 'realness' is looked down on, because it's not cool. |
How bout i just dont like it?
HEY BROS DULLBOY HERE TELLING PEOPLE THEIR OPPINIONS ARE WRONG CUZ HE DONT AGREE.WITH THEM. VINTAGE DULLBOY. |

Personally, I envy the way that Macklemore tackled the subjects of same sex couples, human rights, closed minded religion, and same sex marraige. He created this song in a fashion of a story with factual events from his life and family instead of blatent opinion, which adds to the credability of the song. People can argue against opinions all day lomg, butNobody can conjure up much to fight against and argue with if its a facual story. I applaud him for his ellagance and honesty. well done Macklemore, that landed you in the cival rights history book.

LOL. Yea they will totally acknowledge macklemores incredible stand against biggotry in history class in the near future.....right after the i have a dream speach will be macklemores same sex song. Lool. Do u hear urself?
