Exactly! I mean, there's obviously an interest for it. It's just that the easiest communities to find and get into is through Discord or Twitter for most. I haven't checked out Twitter since I don't have an account but been on a few Discords just to see what it is, how they do and where level is at. Great potential but everyone would get absolutely destroyed.

However, do it well with some effort, guidelines that won't drive people away or get demotivated and shit could kick off again. Finding 50 new people to be active over the span of 1-2 years is a decently easy task tbh. The main contribution would still be to find people that are consistent and to run the leagues/tournaments. But keeping it at 1-2 a month (1 for battles and 1 for topicals) shouldn't be too hard.

The main difficult task would be to rule out ChatGPT and use of AI etc. which there's no doubt people will use. Or just accept altogether as a thing that can be used, but that takes basically everything away from writing imo.
