It’s dead bruh.
This wouldn’t be a topic if it didn’t need to be. |
I looked at RB and it looks pretty much the same. I'll probably sign up later today.

RB & NCs should have teamed up years ago. If the vibe is chill I'll tag along

The difficulty for the future will be keeping them, shit needs a different morality or code in your vision, and what's ok/what isn't unless you want another NCs with the same 10-15 heads arguing and fucking with RIP-threads. You'll make some OGs hate you by doing so but the site will be healthy and a place for the next gen of text to grow. Another issue to overcome is the usage of AI and how to combat that. The days of pure concepts and ideas from people minds is diminishing little by little, so I'd also look into AI tools to recognize the usage of them unless you'll allow that going forward. |

They just aren’t rap forum related. |

Two or more people write something shortish about a given topic, others compare the entries and vote on which they liked best - with that feedback and others’ entries being available to read? |

I agree with @Cereal with the hiphop aspect. Why? Unique writing format and culture that you don't see in other writing communities. 16 bars, focus on creative/unique styles and schemes, rules are lenient but still got to be up to par. More focus on actual content than having 100% correct grammar, slang/muddier language is accepted etc. It's its own thing and easier to get into but hard to master. In a way I guess you could say slam poetry covers this as well but it's not the same and it also lacks the audio portion of it all which I think this side and RB tend to disregard a lot.

Do you believe you write verses that could be rapped to a beat?

Competitions are set up differently as well, challenges tend to be personal and weekly/monthly or shit like NaNoWriMo. I've been on quite a few different writing communities from poetry to novels etc. It's just a lot more lenient atmosphere with text and there's more room to be creative, how people approach topics along with its execution and subject matter differs quite a bit everything considered. I honestly believe text and with hiphop at its core has its own place in writing and has been heavily underestimated at its highest levels. Also not appreciated/discovered to its full extent by people outside of this bubble we've created. |
