Which one

Pakistani Hand Cannon 09-12-2021 09:21 AM

yo

you think ortega stops volk?

Elfo 09-12-2021 01:28 PM

I’m not an MMA expert by any means so this is just from my observation but I feel like if Ortega doesn’t get caught with too many big hits early and can somehow get into a favorable position on the ground by round 2 or early round 3 and look for a submission I can see him taking it here. The only thing is Volk doesn’t go down too often and is definitely durable for 5 round fights, Ortega last went 5 with Zombie and lost to Max while Volk went the distance twice against Max and won both. How I can picture the fight going is either Volk by KO/TKO in the 1st/2nd or Ortega via Submission, if I were to guess a choke of some sort in the 2nd or 3rd round. Again I don’t think Volk goes down easy so it’s gonna be tough but I think Ortega might be able to squeeze it out. He’s KO’d some good fighters in his career but none on Volk’s level but it shows he has good hands as well as ground game. If it ends up going to decision I think Volk takes it. My bad for the damn paragraph

Bobby D 09-13-2021 09:48 AM

I think unless ortega can manage that pressure or get a gullotine, volk will be piecing him up for most the rounds, as simply put hes the only one that can even be close to keeping up to max. I do think ortega does have a good chance though, and I dont like Volk as the champ as max is the peoples champ, plus he def never lost that rematch

Eŋg 09-13-2021 10:37 AM

ortega ain't choking this no neck having ass brick shithouse volk

i ain't seen ortega's last fight though because watching zombie getting dismantled will probably break my heart - i hear he looked vastly improved with his striking though

ortega seems to carry a lot of intangibles with him: unorthodox striking, sniper jiu jitsu, tremendous durability and above all a will to win even late into a fight he is losing - he has done this like half dozen times - but hasn't needed it in his last two victories.

volk though, man. say what you will about his two fights with max (where he convincingly won the first, and the second was splitting hairs) to be able to go 50 minutes with holloway in what is essentially a kickboxing bout, when you're the smaller striker whose base isn't really striking -- that's fucking crazy. even if max dropped him twice in the rematch, just says that much more about his doggedness.

i suspect volk will win a decision, and if ortega were to win it would not be by points, but my bet is the former.

i've got nick and rozenstruick also.

Bobby D 09-13-2021 12:29 PM

I've got Nick too, rozenstruick looked good against everyone except gane and ngannou, so unsure on him at the moment

yeah dont watch the zombie fight, he wasnt the same zombie I've seen, first signs of old age starting to show and slowing down, he wasnt as evsive or landing as many shots, ortega showed huge improvement since his beating from max

Pakistani Hand Cannon 09-13-2021 05:31 PM

yeah...i can see ortega ko'n volk more than snatching his neck - plus volks chin has been cracked before - his recovery is stellar as fuck tho.

i can see him catchin an arm, or even knee bar or someshit tho.

iunno - i'm 50/50 on that fight rn - prolly stay that way.

ortegas angles caught zombie off the whole fight who just stayed too predictable & on straight lines - but he done what zombie does. tega never stayed planted for zombies ploddy footwork to catch up with.

he's also never been too evasive.

& i love zombie...i mean who dont.

watch it - out of love for the art.

zombies the man. & he's no less of one after gettin smoked by ortega in my eyes. you knoww?

i aint exactly enjoy watching zombie get worked (plus i bet on bro lol) but on the flip - this was ortegas first fight since the max schooling - & it was dope to see tegas improvements.

Then you must not be that big of a fan, most of zombies KO's, came from him slipping a shot and dropping the other guy.

I get hes famous for coming forward and taking shots, but that didnt work against ortega and his age showed without doubt, his 4 years out for service also didnt help imo, rest of the division caught up

evaD 09-14-2021 10:16 AM

Ortega by decision
Blaydes
Andrade
Diaz
Shevchenko
Marlon (good fight for undercard!)
Hooker

the two points are not mutually exclusive.

he's good at slipping one shot & countering.

that does not consitute him being evasive.

his footworks ploddy. he rarely, if ever, angles off after he throws. & he's highly aggresive.

to put it simply - he's eaten a whole lotta shots in his career - before & after his hiatus - thats not something you say of an evasive fighter.

kindly chill with that "im a bigger fan" shit

bru...

being able to slip and shoot and being evasive, maybe not mutually exclusive to you, but then I am guessing you've never had a fight. to land a shot you normally have to make your opponent miss or unable to defend, whether thats overloading or setting them up or purely countering, to do any one of these you need movement, so dont come at me like you know something, when you're clearly getting defensive to hold your ground.

I was barely disagreeing with you, just your views on zombies dont give him enough credit, and also not considering his 4 year hiatus and the fact hes clearly aging right now.

no. they are not mutually exlusive, period.

slipping - & countering is evasive, yes.

that in & of itself does not make a fighter evasive.

grasping the point yet?

but then I am guessing you've never had a fight.
cool. i'll play. im guessing i'd blaze you...that was fun.

Quote:

yeah, i agree. he does move. thanks for that insight sherlock.

for the record i kept it cordial - dont project that defensive shakey ground shit youre feeling on me like a buster. own yourself.

based on your lil sideways feminine tone - you can talk to my ballbag in future.

Bobby D 09-15-2021 10:57 AM

oh so you're sensitive as well as stupid.

well sucks to be you.

In simple English you've managed to contradict yourself as well as still try and defend the same stupid point you made then contadict yourself again.

sideways tone? nah dickhead just telling you how it is, SIMPLE! you just said yourself you have to be evasive to hit a shot, if that doesnt make you evasive still, i dont know what more to say to your dumb ass, so chill on the retorts I definitely wont be reading anything else you have to say on fighting

Pakistani Hand Cannon 09-15-2021 11:44 AM

hit a shot is killing me for some reason lmaooo but yea...

you actually, genuinely, cant grasp this shit can you?

its not a contradiction. youre just basic.

this comment was brought to you direct from my ballbag.

Diaz beats Lawler again, gets Masvidal after, that's the fight i want to see even tho Diaz probably wins that too
