This was a decent enough battle of very similar styles. I haven’t really read much of Barcotic’s stuff, but I know I’ve seen User come better than this. No disrespect — it was a solid enough verse. I just didn’t laugh as much as I normally do with User’s stuff, and I think a lot more could have been done with that picture.
I could tell Barcotic has some skills. The verse was well polished... I just wasn’t a fan of a number of the concepts. Ginger bred was dope, and I actually liked the escape pod and hurricane laura lines. But, there were several that I thought were kinda corny or had just been done too often (pizza, etc).
User wasn’t his best self here. But, I think he still barely edged it out. He had less lower (relatively speaking) points and was more consistently good. But, this was really close.. I’ll look out for Barcotic’s stuff. I have a feeling he’s generally solid, and this just wasn’t his best work.
