Clear indication rehab isn't an option and he isn't ready to sober up yet.

Sobriety should be determined by the free market and free market only imo.

Have they been suspecting you or something?

Seems weird they would just have a breathalyzer on site

Amen 09-26-2018 11:33 AM

Most company's have one.

It's a EHS/human resource issue, tho. Like I'm the EHS director and i'm usually notified when a supervisor or manager suspects someone of being under the influence.

I typically have to investigate it and the HR Director and I interview that employee.

Based off that interview determines then next course of action.

If we both agree that individual is under the influence of alcohol - a BAC test is then taken on site. If we believe the individual is under the influence of a narcotic and/or THC - then the individual is sent to the clinic for drug screening while supervised.

~RustyGunZ~ 09-26-2018 11:52 AM

please don't listen to uh oh, plot. you need serious help. you can't help yourself or you would have by now. stop being a stupid faggot and join AA. if you have such a strong mind like you claim could make you quit if you wanted, than it's a strong enough mind to follow the steps and not have to find jesus.

uh-oh 09-26-2018 11:54 AM

they obviously dont deal with addiction issues

Rule 1. You wont quit unless you want to. FACTS.

You dont want to. AA isnt going to make you want to.

We are all wasting our time and energy here on this one.

Inno 09-26-2018 12:15 PM

This isn’t healthy for plot.

Stop discouraging him becuase of your own bias.

Never give up on anyone still breathing, that’s stupid to assume he’s a lost caused, come on guys

Amen 09-26-2018 12:48 PM

Ok so AA is great because of the support system. Because it gives you someone you can call, or meet, or whatever when you feel like you're about to fall off the wagon, and that person is someone who has felt what you feel, instead of just someone in your family, or a friend or whatever who will offer reassurance but really do not understand what you're going through or how to talk to you.

That support can be life saving.

veritas 09-26-2018 01:49 PM

AA works. You have to want it.

IT works if you work it.

Al-anon is okay from my experience, but any help, religiously affiliated or not, is help.
If you want to stop drinking, or want to talk about why you drink (other than beer being awesome) then you should try one of these places out. It's good to anonymously get some thoughts out and into the air.

Hit me up if you ever wanna shoot the shit about addiction.
