Illmatic breathed life into the east scene and then biggie wu and jay followed not long after Ohhh And the east had krs one who is an intelligent dude but the most over rated rapper ever West changed the game east brought the grime back sstarting with illmatic |

plenty of good east coast rap coming out in the early 90s. Wu, Organized Konfusion, etc. But def west coast dominated. Illmatic>Ready to Die, tbh, but those are the two greatest albums for the genre.
