Hey but maybe England makes it out of Group Stage this time (only to be pummeled by Poland)????

I hope England do well but I really couldn't care less.

I want Spain to do well because I have Spanish heritage and I'll be in Lanzarote for the next 2 weeks, or Portugal because I have them in the sweepstakes at work lol

But yeah Brazil, Germany, or France are favourites, my money is on France personally.

Damn that's early. Luckily the time difference between here and Russia isn't too much, France Vs Australia will be 11am, Argentina Vs Iceland is 2pm, and Croatia Vs Nigeria at 8pm. Pretty good times.

Witty 06-15-2018 08:30 PM

Oh and Peru Vs Denmark at 5pm but I'll skip that one.

Yeah you guys have it good. All of the games show at 0600, 1100, and 1400 over here. Works out for me cause I’m home during that time but I have to cut into my sleep time if I wanna watch

I want to see what Kasper can do in this one

Witty 06-16-2018 01:54 PM

Messi was poor today, the whole team was really, apart from Mascherano and Pavon when he came on.

Iceland played how they always play. It's frustrating to watch (and play against) but it is effective. They had a plan, and executed it to perfection.

he meant their players (who of course win it with their teams). portugal have had some talents but no one considers them a historically great team and argentina have always lagged behind their south american counterparts despite a good resume. can you not talk about football, thanks.

fuck england.

The worst thing if England win would be reading and hearing about it for the next 50 years.

To say I read about 1966 in British sports media approximately once a month would probably not be an exaggeration, and if it is, definitely not much of one.

I know exactly what he was inferring but wish in one hand, shit in the other, and tell me which fills up first you condescending fuckwit.

Do I have to pull out my national soccer kits from when I was kid in the 80s and 90s to gain your acceptance (answer: no, I don't, because you are a condescending fuckwit)

good thing there's no chance at it happening until the new generation peaks.

which, unfortunately, will likely be between world cups. 2022 is too early and 2026 is too late + the (stupid) field increase to 48 teams.

Eŋg 06-16-2018 03:32 PM

@tryode

a: yo messi or ronaldo might be the best if they manage to capture a world cup medal

b: no germany won the world cup back to back

c: yea but individual players you moron - belonging to teams which no one heralds as the greatest

b: fuck off you know-it-all i kicked a ball fifty years ago

(i might be a condescending prick but the flow of the conversation clearly tells you're a moron)

gg.

Waiting to see Germany, Brazil and Belgium play.

Argentina and Portugal rely on one player so won't win it.
France look tactically and mentally lost on the pitch.

Spain dominated massively and were impressive, poor goalkeeping and GOAT Ronaldo the only reason they didn't smash Portugal.

Germany I think are a poor team... well not poor poor but worse than before and I don't think will go far. Brazil it really depends on their defence, not sure how they have been going or who they even play their.

Belgium, as always, are my pick and dark horse. Solid in all positions and Hazard/De Bruyne are the 3rd and 4th best players in the Comp. Top class players throughout the first eleven, slight concern about depth of the squad.

England I just hope aren't boring, go down fighting at least this time.

No, the conversation was Witty waxing hopeful that international superstars could LeBron their national teams into a victory beyond the group stage and me laughing because it's not going to happen, with some Germany homerism thrown in for good measure.

Then you jumped in here when nobody was speaking to you to try to feel superior because you have an endless inferiority complex and can't help yourself.

So here we are.

Diode 06-16-2018 04:23 PM

Also, I would love for Die Mannschaft to win back to back, but we're weeks away from that outcome. Or did you confuse WC 14 and Confed Cup 17 as the same thing?

Look at you being stupid.

Eŋg 06-16-2018 04:38 PM

i stand corrected.

i wasn't trolling.

i'm going to barely catch the highlights of this tournament.

iran ftw.

Witty 06-16-2018 05:08 PM

I mean Ronaldo won the Euro's with Portugal so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility, but yes, very unlikely.

Witty 06-16-2018 06:01 PM

France were baffling today. They are a team full of world class players, who have played together all through qualifying...and yet in the game vs Australia they looked like they had just met that day.

I did predict something like that might happen tho. Because it's France.

Witty 06-25-2018 02:52 PM

Anyone still interested? Lol

Absolutely world class from Kroos. To do that. At that time. With that pressure. Amazing.

Germany back in the game.
