Without Kyrie the sixers are easily in position to make it to conference finals, but I don't see them taking a best of 7 series against the Raptors or Cavs. I know these aren't the same Cavs as last year, but it's still LeBron

Then again, Nick Foles proved me wrong and he's not what Ben Simmons/Joel Embiid could be

Picking up Reddick and Belenelli were such great moves for the team, good to see them doing what they do best. If the heat defense was competent Saturday night wouldn't have happened and that probably won't happen in later rounds

Fuck Philly.

Amen 04-16-2018 01:54 PM

Speaking of which,

Has there ever been a city to win a championship in 3 or more sports?

Like Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, etc?

Any 3 sports but 3 teams won the championship? Curious.

PancakeBrah 04-16-2018 01:56 PM

Boston.

Red Sox
Bruins
Patriots
Celtics

Idk if it was all in one calendar year but close enough to not matter.

Have you looked at your own city? New York.

Yes. Didn't see one. Saw multiple Yankee/Rangers and Yankee/Giants but didn't see more then the 2.

Unless I'm missing something.

Knicks in 73. I'm more NY than you.

76ers are straight up better than the Cavs if Embiid is healthy. They could still lose, obviously. Whether it's due to playoff inexperience or LeBron just deciding he won't lose. But talent wise the 76ers should be favored.

Toronto is better (probably the last year you can say this). But Toronto are the world's foremost experts at choking like dogs and failing to live up to expectations. Who stops Embiid on the Raptors?

A healthy Boston in 2019 is a juggernaut. Philly is going to be great for years to come if Embiid stays healthy, but this may be the easiest path they ever get to get to the Finals, with Boston looming in the future.

As a fan of the tanking Bulls I am giving all of my power to Philly.

They'll get destroyed against the Rockets or Warriors, obviously.

If Amen is talking about a city having 3+ championship franchises in different sports, not just all in one year, then Chicago has it, too.

Bro - in 73 the Mets were in the world series against the Oakland A's to which the A's won the series 4-3.

So no, the Yankees did not win that year lol... You are not more NY - sit your ass back down. And the wack ass Giants 1st Superbowl was in 87, I think.

I was at the Barclay's center when Embiid and Saric were drafted... This is what it's been all about

Before Cleveland's game 1 I would say they have a good chance if they can avoid the Cavs. But now I'd say they have a great chance even if they meet the Cavs lol

Yes 87 they had a championship before but it wasn't a Superbowl

Fart 04-16-2018 02:40 PM

7/8 teams in the west could beat L bron in the finals in 6. Max.

Fart 04-16-2018 02:42 PM

As far as i know no city has had more than 2 in the same year in college or professional sports
I think it’s only happened twice in pros and once in college

Amen 04-16-2018 02:42 PM

Drew probably knows...
@Fart - what city won 3 or more chips in a single year from different spots franchises man?

EDIT: Didn't Boston get the Grand slam one year tho? What year was that? - I think the RedSox, Pats and...... Don't remember what other sport won.
