Bit unsettling and sad

Yeah I was skeptical going into it because I was worried everyone me either loved it because they are black and felt liberated or white guilt lol but it is legit top 3 mcu. Best movie this year so far. I feel like a sequel is going to taint this one eventually though.

I wish every mcu movie had this much attention to detail too. That’s a big part of why it was so good. They spent a ton of time studying African culture and making sure they didn’t offend anyone. And they had an entire original soundtrack done by one of the worlds biggest artist.

It was good but just a marvel film at the end of the day . Prob top 3 but it wasn't as deep as people made out.

Zaddy 03-24-2018 12:40 PM

The biggest thing we have to look at here is that aside from “Get Out”, Big Mommas House, and Madea series...:this is all black folk have going for them

It’s just fax

It was that deep tho. The metaphor for racial disparity among African Americans and Africans alone was hugely thought provoking and also insightful towards the loss of individual cultures due to globalization/Americanization in which uniformity is taking the place of unique local traditions accross the board for ALL nationalities worldwide with persistent efforts towards equality at the price of neglecting tribal family values.

It's not that it wasn't deep....you're just not a deep thinker.

Zaddy 03-24-2018 12:50 PM

hollywood does a black superhero movie.

villain is hailed as antihero still spent most of his life as a killdog for white devils.

has some rooted african influence but we're going to make the jabari tribe monkeys that have a simian chant because fuck ya'll.

good aesthetics on the costume i need one of those long-shirts boseman was wearing.

posits africans are closer to nature and their earth mother but when showing the landscape of fictional wakandan capital, the city looks like any other inspid techno-trash from a myriad of other movies because this is the pinnacle of human imagination.

casually call white people colonizers.

white people: we like this because we have black friends.

black people: we represented now and empowered let me pay my hard earned money to marvel to see this again and again!

represent yourself, motherfuckers. lupita's pretty bad though i'd beat.

also yea even if it was the best marvel movie, which it wasn't, their average is terribad.

p.s. anything that talks about birthright concerning a monarchy is subconsciously conditioning you to accept the elite and in so doing lower your 'inherent' stock.

black people: we represented now and empowered in our traditional garb lining the pockets of rich white executives.

That's one way to look at it and a perspective I considered while watching.

Kindve goes off my point that there was alot to think about.....sadly tho I think you're right and alot of people will be thinking about and or misinterpreting key peices of knowledge from the movie.

Witty 03-24-2018 01:12 PM

Hey, while it's cool to see African Americans represented so strongly in a movie, this probably won't be the catalyst for change. Can't see too many influential people saying "Yo this is awesome this racism, economically disadvantaging minorities is top 3 best things of all time imo"...."But yo, there was this movie and the guy totally beat up some bad guys...and guess what....HE WAS A BLACK!" ..."Good point...let's only racism Mexicans now bros"
