To me it does. Winning is everything. I'm super-competitive. I wouldn't have been doing this ish 10+ years if I didn't want to constantly prove I'm one of the best to do it.

To some I guess winning is part of the fun, to me winning IS the fun.

I like to know I'm still one of the best out at what I choose to do. I don't even value multiple time champs as highly as I value people who've champed, then gone on to defend their title multiple times.

Reaching the top is one thing, having that relentless streak to want to remain there when everyone below you is gunning for your spot is another.

It's why I've stuck at it as long as I have. I thrive on the competitive side. I'm here to be the best and beat the best.

I always thought topical should be kept seperate record wise from battles
it only works to hinder cross over writers

your call bro. I respect your opinion either way, though my 2 cents (from a purely battle perspective) is that if there is a certain amount of effort put into it (which for me is 8 lines+) then it should count. But considering poetry is much more subjective and not competitive by nature, I feel you. Especially if you think attaching the record to it is keeping people from competing.

But I gotta think about how the champ matches come to happen when there's no records. Just something to consider.
