as for the tamir rice one, he was DEFINITELY pointing it at people, it was on camera.

it was completely fucked up how the dude opened fire immediately upon getting there, but he wasn't killed because he was black, he was killed because it was a trigger happy cop responding to a person POINTING A GUN AT PEOPLE

now dylan roof, KILLED PEOPLE, but the police can't roll up and KILL YOU even if you have killed people. the polices job is to capture you.

in both those instances those people were armed and the police were RESPONDING to them, it isn't the cops job to know if its a bb gun, its your job to obey his commands

in this case the crime was committed well before this, "armed and dangerous" criminals are taken into custody without incident ALL THE FUCKING TIME. black ones, white ones, brown ones, you name it. every murderer isn't killed by cops, the same way every criminal isn't killed by cops.

obviously the cops can make quick triggerhappy decisions, but you have to understand the pressure they are under, they can't know for sure you got a bb gun, they go off what they are told, and what they see, the day they wonder if a gun is real is the day they don't go home.

I don't think anybody is saying every black person who comes in to contact with police is racially abused, but it IS a problem and it IS due to racism. I understand that it's a tough call because if you're wrong, you're dead. And that there are so many other low profile cases where everyone winds up okay but there is a disparity in how different races are treated

the media pushes the racial divide because it doesn't put on the stories of cops killing white people. they sensationalize every single instance where a black person is killed by police, and you'll be lucky to make THE LOCAL news if you are white and killed unjustly by police.
