Read Atlas Shrugged, Fountainhead and Anthem. Didn't care much for any of them to be honest. Atlas Shrugged could have been the best of the three if it wasn't 200 pages longer than it should have been. Anthem and Fountainhead were more enjoyable to me, all three are just preachy for objectivism tbh. Worth skipping, so much more good shit out there.

As a writer, Rand isn't terribly respectable. She's a philosopher who writes, definitely lacking in artistic merit. I'm pissed at the wasted time I spent on those books, but I did take away something valuable from them: now of I don't like a book 50-80 pages in, I drop it. Before I'd finish just to finish.

The answer is within you.

Search deep young padawan

IamBenT 06-05-2013 04:04 PM

indeed.

I shall begin the search. Perhaps one day I shall understand the desire to read those ginormous dumps that Ayn Rand calls "books"
