Sometimes 'simple' rhyme schemes are more effective than 'complex' multiple rhymes. Consider some writing to address themes of depression or nostalgia etc. In this situation perhaps move away from multi-rhymes especially ones that are close to each other and back-to-back because the nature of it would detract from the themes to develop. Worse still is when there is awkward wording because of a forced multiple rhyme. Why write something in an overly convoluted way just to meet some minimum requirement of multiple rhyming, when sometimes a simple and concise language with 1 or 2 syllable rhyme is more fitting?

Exactly man, I'm sure there have been a number of votes that may not have changed but atleast been fed better if everything was picked up on. Yes its the writers job to make it understandable but its the readers job to comprehend. Shakespeare didn't dumb shit down so ppl understood better which is why he wasn't as universally known then but is now thought of as one of the greats.

Completely agree, I hate it when dialogue has a shit ton of multies cuz nobody actually believes that is the actual conversation lol

The best writers get their points across clearly and cleanly while not ignoring complexity of content or rhyme.

I must be completely missing your rhyme scheme

breathless 10-24-2013 11:45 PM

Cause it isn't a scheme, its a way of life, didn't really mean for it to be taken in stride

Yes but not all readers are of the same cloth. There isn't a verse in the world every person that reads it will comprehend every word

Certain 10-25-2013 12:02 AM

Sure, but there are verses in which everyone literate enough to be in this league can understand the content relatively clearly.
