Yessir. I'm very particular about my hoppy beers - IPAs with too much edge and my pallet gets all fucked up.
@Adonis, I'm cool with that kind of shit - I used to slam back Mike's, I still get one every now and again. Unfortunately, now my taste for beer has hoisted me into the stratosphere of craft-beer elitism.

Certain 02-28-2014 10:18 PM

A friend gave me a bottle of Bell's HopSlam, which comes out in small quantities once a year. I haven't tried it yet, but it's rated as the 23rd best beer by Beer Advocate users: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/287/17112/

I've only had four of the beers ranked above it, and they were amazingly good. Here's the list: http://www.beeradvocate.com/lists/top/

Ink 02-28-2014 10:27 PM

I've tried Pliny the Younger and Pliny the Elder. It was wasted on me, cause I'm not into IPAs haha

Certain 02-28-2014 10:28 PM

I'm going to do whatever it takes to get in on the next batch of Pliny the Younger.

PancakeBrah 02-28-2014 10:31 PM

I'm currently working on a pint of Jack as a post workout shake. Heard it's even better than whey.

Beer elitism is lost on me.

Certain 02-28-2014 10:33 PM

I recently ate a half-chicken Peruvian style as dinner. Heard it's even better than fried.

Protein powder is lost on me.

Adonis 02-28-2014 10:36 PM

I'm drinking coffee

Chea!!

dyedinthewool 02-28-2014 10:41 PM

I'm panicking.

Also, the reason I thought you might like Nugget Nectar is because it balances out the hops with malt much more than an IPA. (It's an imperial amber ale, and Troegs' HopBack, their regular amber ale, isn't hoppy at all despite its name.)

I've had half of those stouts. I actually am more of a stout fan than an IPA fan. My favorite stout is Goose Island's Bourbon Barrel Coffee Stout (though the regular Bourbon Barrel Stout is excellent and much easier to find).

if it was a bit heavier i would enjoy it more. there are some borderline dopplebocks and marzens that are high on the hop content that i manage to enjoy.
