The issue is that Tyson wants to pretend I was/am scared to post against him. That's not true, so I've offered to battle him in the BA. He's declined. Now my contention is that HE is scared to post against ME

The only counterpoint (which no one has brought up) is that the Battle Arena is not kind to topical battles.

It actually would make more sense to post them in Open Mic.

The problem is the Open Mic is for verses people want in depth feedback on... the BA is for battles that will go towards your overall site record.

One is run like a competition warehouse and one is run like a, idk. Talent show. Lol. OPEN MIC

People don't click on the OM to vote, and people don't click on the BA to fight

Part of the reason the BA is so devoid of topical battles and regular battles is cause our leagues and tourneys here essentially accommodate everyone of every skill level

Posting Topical battles directly into the OM would saturate the OM with verses no one would read, tons of failed battle threads, and bring in 0 more votes

Maybe a Topical BA subforum in the OM could work. But there's like 1 battle a month.

Yes, I did no show our battle. I'm not backing away from that. I only object to your insinuation that I was afraid to post against you. The reality is I just didn't organize myself well enough to find time to write before the deadline.

I'm probs overstating things. But believe me, if battles start showing up in the OM they'll start showing up much more often... Scripter vs. Urban Dialect rounds 1-200, most likely

it will within 2 battles/ week get to the point where they are consistently pushing down OM pieces, at which point they will be deemed an eyesore (which they are) and reallocated to a Topical Battle Arena which will spectacularly draw in less views than the regular Battle Arena, and then you need 2 new moderators to demand votes from people who most likely cannot process that many words at a time


Plus, the idea of topical battles outside of a league setting is kind of dumb, because you need a 3rd party to decide votes.... which is wicked fucking easy in a league and wicked fucking annoying outside of one

Which is why topicalists have Write Nights and Write Weeks

which we need another of.
