Adonis , your first step is to buy the 2014 Children's Writers and Illustrators Market book


before you even think about it for another second you must have that book in your possession. Once your story is written, that will be your bible.


It will give you the address and or website of every children's book publishing company in the US. it will also give you detailed instructions on what kind of books each are currently looking for. and finally it will tell you the exact and very precise format that each publishing company will accept your manuscript.


after you send them out, you will wait to hear from an editor , saying yes we would like to publish your piece of work, or no thanks.

then you send to the next company. expect a ton of no thank you letters, and pray for a yes.

you do not need illustrations. if they want to publish it they will assign you a illustrator that works for them.



good luck. AND never ever ever, think that you could rhyme or write a children's book better than Dr. Sluess. saying something like that in a room full of authors is pure blasphemy. it also screams, im clueless!
