I think we should have a max line limit for this league. Poetry is about maximizing the content conveyed by your words. I think I line limit would encourage more editing and more creativity to express ideas in a constrained space.

Thought about this after looking at Hush vs. Destroyer. Both dropped good pieces in a short format. This might also be something that can distinguish the poetry league from the topical league where max lines is sort of the goal.

@fraze, this is a valid point. I don't see why a line limit would encourage or discourage conciseness though. For me, personally, a line limit is daunting because it interferes with my stream of thoughts. If there is no wall in the distance, I won't be worried about going beyond limitations/parameters. I'd rather poetry have ultimate freedom of expression/length/etc.

I feel you, but on the other hand, that shit can work against you.

For example, if someone posted a short verse, say, 8 bars, and that shit was done perfectly; it's a super solid well written verse, flawless.

Then, the other person post like 64 lines, unless that person is ass cheeks, you're bound to come up with enough material to kind of make it seem like that verse was better than the 8 bar verse.

I feel you on this but tbh it go either way i mean you posted a short verse againts a long verse. Some peeps voted for you some didnt. All im saying theres really no reall way to know shich works better unless we try it.

plus i think we are holding off on the line limit because eventually in the coming weeks we will try to introduce different poetry styles ie HAIKUS, SONNETS and so on. Most of if not all of those styles have a strict format that needs to be follwed to even be considered a haiku or sonnet.

Think of these no limit weeks as a chance to go off. No restrictions.
Plus ive run poetry leagues with line limits and the arguement is always
